Artists have been fascinated and inspired by color theories for centuries. My interest is piqued by the human psyche and the consequential reaction to these color theories, especially in spatial installations. Most people tend to want an explanation of what’s experienced and seem lost when asked to reflect upon the work. The viewer tries try to give words to what the artist might have meant. The communication between installation and viewer happens more on a subconscious level and is hard to put into a description. Colour and geometric shapes, with exclusively perpendicular lines, play a central role.
